- Problem with 2004 physician claims from the 2008 link (cases through 2005):
If you are using 2004 physician cases from the 2008 link, please read this
important letter.
- Chemotherapy Codes: There have been changes in how chemotherapy is coded in the Medicare claims. Please see Procedure Codes for SEER-Medicare Analyses for more details.
- IRB approval:
Effective September 15, 2009, all investigators requesting SEER-Medicare data must provide
documentation of IRB approval from the IRB affiliated with their institution. Please
contact the SEER Medicare contact with any questions.
- SEER-Medicare training: NCI sponsors periodic training courses
for researchers interested in using the SEER-Medicare data. The next available course will
be available by webcast on March 8-9, 2010. A
draft agenda is available. If you would like to register for the webcast, please
contact Michelle
Murray.
- Availability of Part D data: Currently, no Part D data are available as
part of the SEER-Medicare data. NCI has been in contact with CMS to obtain permission to add
Part D data to the SEER-Medicare files. These discussions are ongoing.
